Studio On The Avenue (“SOTA”) is focused on presenting the works of emerging artists.

SOTA was established in 2006 by Nico Gareri and produced its first exhibition that year. It participated as a CONTACT Toronto Photography Festival event venue in 2007 and again in 2008, and has continued to produce unique exhibitions and events since.

In 2008, SOTA expanded its activities to include publishing. Its first fine photographic publication, titled “Gagliato”, was printed and bound in Italy by the renowned  printing house Editoriale Bortolazzi-Stei (EBS) of Verona and was launched in Toronto on September 18th, 2008. The archival quality 12” x 12” tritone publication features the fine black-and-white work of Toronto-based father-daughter photographers Nicola (“Nico“) and Stephanie Gareri.

As a result of its expanded activities, SOTA has formally evolved into Studio On The Avenue Publishing Co. Ltd. In addition to its legal name, the company operates under the Studio On The Avenue and SOTA banners.
